Concrete Garden of Your Heart
HEALING
Poem reads:
I poured cement on my heart and proudly claimed
"no one is getting in there now!"
I was young, naïve
I did not yet realise love conquers all
Cracks began to appear
and flowers began to sprout
and love trickled in
The concrete garden of my heart
turned into a forest
And I grew as the flowers and the bees
the birds and the trees
made a home in me.
It became a wonder
a must-see
everyone wanted to water their garden
with the rains from my soul
And I let them.
Because I have grown a heart much stronger
than a few selfish beings
Worth more than dirty footsteps
treading through my heaven.
I am full
with or without you
but willing to share with you
if you are to share with me.
